The Bell Telephone switchboard was upstairs and the town curfew/fire siren was mounted on top; when the strolling cop was needed a red light shone from the corner, activated by Central. The drugstore was the town's nerve center, even the phone number was "one." Looking down East Oneida from State Street. Smith and Sons Produce. 1-17-11. Back of postcard: Foss Drug, or Bayles Drug on corner, Uncle Kay's store on right. Addressed to Parley L. Carver, Box 426, Newport News, VA. 44 years ago the advent of your Pa. We are all well a little snow. Walt Carver is called on a mission. He never called here for Ex mass(?) I have been doing some wash on county Road of late. _____of the people are better now though Dave Evans little boy is quite sick. Haven't heard from Plain City for some time.
