Title:
Oxford, Idaho School Bell
Creator:
James D. Boyce
Date Created:
1993-94
Description:
When the Oxford School House was remodeled and the bell tower removed, the bell was sold to Janette and Wilford Bosworth for $3.50. They had to take it down with a series of blocks and tackle. The rope pulley was removed and Floyd Helmandollar built and mounted it on a wooden frame. The Bosworths had the bell at their home in Treasureton until they moved to Winder. In 1993, Dee Boyce, Janette's brother, acquired the bell and had it refurbished and mounted on a new wooden frame.
